YouTube Videos can be added to the slider by using the custom field “movie”.
Add the code in the post so you see it in the single page view also. To get the thumbnail for the slider attach an image to the post. No need to insert it, just attach with the upload image button.

Video In the slider! Most browsers support this fine but it is worth noting that FF in windows doesn’t hide the movie when it slides off the stage. Not horrible but worth noting. I believe this to be a FF bug.  Everything will still work just fine.  You could also use an image and just place the movie in the post with no issues at all.  Though I would keep it in as it is still super cool!
